Here is everything you need to know about Motorola Moto G Pro  before you buy

Motorola Moto G Pro is the newest addition to there Motorola collection of smartphones. Here is what you should know about this new high end android based mobile phone.

Previously we talked about Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G uw, and now we are back with Motorola Moto G Pro

.

Motorola Moto G Pro Part 1

#GB    #storage    #user    #EUR

The Moto G Pro carries a price tag of EUR 329 ( roughly Rs. 27,400 ) for the sole 4 GB + 128 GB storage option.

The Moto G Pro is priced at EUR 329 ( Roughly Rs 27,300 ) and is only available in a 4 GB RAM and 128 GB storage model.

The Moto G Pro has been priced at EUR 329 which is around Rs 27,400 for the single 4GB/128 GB option.

While both phones have room for a MicroSD card, the G Stylus has 128 GB of internal storage, while the G Power makes do with 64 GB.

Also typical for this user might be a casual attitude to storage, which is just as well since many Moto G’s come with 5 GB free out of the box, while the 16 GB version has 13 GB free.

#price    #Plus    #year    #budget

Over the past three years, the Moto G5 Plus, Moto G6 and Moto G7 showed us just how good budget phones can be.

For example, the successor to last year’s Moto G7 Power isn’t the Moto G8 Power and is instead just the Moto G Power.

The Power is no surprise — last year’s Moto G7 Power was a solid budget phone that deserves a sequel — but the Stylus is unexpected.

The Moto G8 launched for around $ 230-$280 depending on the market, so we should see pricing around the same ballpark when the Moto G Fast is officially announced.

The current G range is a perfect example because Motorola released the Moto G8 Plus and Moto G8 Play a while back, but neither is coming to the states.

#stylus    #notes    #Pen    #trigger    #s

There’s a special notepad app on the Moto G Stylus which is triggered by the removal of the stylus, so you can quickly jot down notes.

The Moto G Stylus features a built – in stylus, offering the same basic utility of Samsung’s S Pen without the fancy pressure sensitivity and Bluetooth functionality.

Unlike the S – Pen on the Galaxy Note 10, the Moto stylus doesn’t connect with Bluetooth and relies solely on capacitive touch for interactions.

When you pull the stylus out, you can set it to trigger the Notes app to open without unlocking your phone, or have it open a stylus menu with shortcuts.

The extra $ 50 that the Moto G Stylus commands gets you more storage, a better camera, and a stylus, which is enough to give it a narrow win here.

#Redmi    #performance    #Note

Regardless, the overall performance is well behind the Redmi Note 8 Pro, which is the real competitor for the Moto G8 Plus.

Simply put, it’s not a very good camera, particularly when pitted against stellar performers like the Redmi Note 8 Pro and the Realme XT.

Great options like the Redmi Note 9 Pro, Poco X2 and Realme 6 provide excellent performance, better imaging and simply put, a lot more value.

Between the high – quality imaging, excellent performance, and top – notch build quality, it is hard to overlook the Redmi hardware.

At a similar price point, the Redmi Note 9 is a much superior option that marries a better build and design with more powerful specifications and, arguably, a better camera as well.

#Motorola    #handset    #feels    #lot

It’s not unusual for Motorola to release a lot of phones, and it can be difficult to work out what the differences between them are.

This time, the company has taken a lot of what made the Moto G6 a solid handset and gently refined it into an even more premium feeling product.

The phone ships with Android 9 Pie out of the box and Motorola has promised an update to Android 10 soon.

The most important thing to know is this feels like a more premium phone than you may expect at this price.

Motorola has done a decent job of making the Moto G8 look like a far more expensive handset than it is.

It’s not that Motorola’s phone looks bad — it’s just that the G Power uses a plastic chassis and there’s not a lot you can do to disguise that.

#sensor    #aperture    #lens    #angle

The phone packs a triple rear camera setup that includes a 48-megapixel main camera with f/1.7 aperture, a 16-megapixel ultra – wide camera with f/2.2 aperture, and a 2-megapixel macro camera with f/2.2 aperture.

The sensors on the phone include GPS, Accelerometer, gyroscope, proximity sensor, ambient light sensor, sensor hub, and a fingerprint sensor on the rear panel.

Accompanying the primary sensor is a 16MP sensor for ultra – wide – angle shots and a 2MP sensor for macro shots.

The Moto G Power has a 16-megapixel main lens, an 8-megapixel ultrawide angle lens, and the same 2-megapixel lens for macro photography.

As far as the cameras are concerned, the Motorola Moto G Pro on the rear packs a 48-megapixel primary camera with an f/1.7 aperture; a second 16-megapixel camera with an f/2.2 aperture and a third 2-megapixel camera.

#Galaxy    #experience    #find

Click to EnlargeThe Moto G offers one of the cleanest Android experiences you can find on a non – Nexus device.

The $ 199 Moto G is a budget smartphone that combines a fun, customizable design with a fairly pure Android experience.

Yes, you can have fun with a Galaxy Note 3, but hold the Galaxy S III, S4, Galaxy Nexus, Nexus 5 or this, the Motorola Moto G, and most people will feel right at home.

Click to EnlargeContract commitment – phobes on a tight budget will be hard pressed to find a better deal than the Moto G.

The Motorola Moto G family of phones has a history of finding that sweet spot between well – considered necessities and an affordable price.

#splash    #water    #drop    #Glass

There’s little to separate these phones in the durability stakes; both are splash resistant and will likely survive a drop or two.

The large earpiece grille at the top has me concerned about water damage, but Motorola claims that the phone has a water repellant design so you should be alright.

The phone sports a nano – coating layer which should make it resistant to splashes, but you’ll want to be careful around the pool.

I ‘d guess that light spray and the odd sprinkle will likely pose no threat, but don’t drop this phone in the pool.

It’s robust ( Motorola claim ‘water repellent ‘, so perhaps splash proof at most ), simple, does the basics perfectly and doesn’t cost the earth to buy or replace.

#app    #Android    #Google    #stock    #shortcuts

There are some additional options in the camera app and you’ll find a batch of Moto apps alongside familiar Google apps.

After unlocking the device, we were greeted with the Moto G’s main home screen, which comes with the Google Now search bar, a time widget and shortcuts to a few Google apps by default.

From its lock screen to the app drawer, we couldn’t find many differences between the stock OS and Motorola’s ever – so – slightly skinned version of Android 4.3 Jelly Bean.

Click to EnlargeThe Moto G’s app drawer is fairly scarce out of the box, but Motorola bundled some of its own signature apps.

Otherwise everything’s very familiar on the Moto G, with five homescreens ( no, you can’t add more ), shortcuts, folders of shortcuts, a dock, a swipeable main application menu, all bog – standard, plus the ubiquitous on – screen Android virtual controls.

#pixels    #screen    #resolution    #display    #XL

The phone comes with a 6.40-inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 1080×2300 pixels at a pixel density of 399 pixels per inch ( ppi ) and an aspect ratio of 19:9.

The screen of the Moto G Pro by Motorola measures 6.4 inches that will present full HD plus the resolution of 1080 x 2300 pixels.

The Power / Pro and the Plus have equivalent resolutions : i.e. the additional diagonal portion of the Power / Pro models means they have slightly more pixels on display.

The Pixel 3a XL, which only has a 3,700 mAh battery but a faster 18-watt adapter, got up to 22 % after 15 minutes of charging.

Moving inside to take a picture of dinner, the Moto G Power gets the better of the Pixel 3a XL in terms of color.

#fingerprint    #scanner    #sensor

There’s a circular camera stack sitting in the top center, with a fingerprint sensor cleverly hidden below in the Motorola logo.

On the back is a fingerprint sensor, on the front is a 16-megapixel selfie camera and on the bottom is a headphone jack.

While the Moto G Power’s Fingerprint sensor is easy to locate on the back of the phone, I found it to be less responsive than I normally prefer.

When you’re holding the Moto G7, the fingerprint scanner is easy to use but it can be annoying when your phone is laying on a desk or somewhere where you don’t have quick access to the scanner.

The scanner was as fast as anything else on the market, and unlocking the phone is fast and hassle – free.

#USB    #C    #charging    #chargers    #port

On the far left is the phone’s single speaker next to the USB – C port for charging and data transfer.

On the bottom, you’ll find the USB – C charging port, while the left side is home to the hybrid SIM / microSD slot.

The Moto G8 Plus ships with a pretty standard package that includes a 15W fast charger and USB – C cable.

In terms of connectivity, the device offers a USB Type – C port, a 3.5 mm headphone jack, Wi – Fi, and Bluetooth.

The phone ships with a 15W USB – C charger in the box, which allows you to top it off pretty quickly.

Connectivity options on the Moto G Pro include 4 G LTE, USB Type – C port, 3.5 mm audio jack, Bluetooth v5.0, and NFC support.

#hand    #bezels    #find    #looks

You may sometimes find it a struggle to use one – handed if you have smaller hands as the display is so tall, but we really like how the phone looks in the hand.

On the front, you’ll find an edge – to – edge glass design with chunky bezels along the top and bottom.

The rear of the Moto G7 is curved on either side so it sits comfortably in the palm of your hand.

Both of these feel tactile enough that they’re easy to find and use, plus the left hand side of the handset is bear giving your fingers a comfortable place to land if you’re right handed, mind you.

From the back, it looks nearly identical, and the main differences on the front are smaller bezels and a notch at the top of the display.

#photo    #flowers    #background    #shot    #image

The Moto G Power’s image is brighter, but the flower petals aren’t as sharp and the shot doesn’t seem as balanced as what Google’s phone produced.

The effect can be quite striking in some photos, like this picture of yellow and orange flowers where only the yellow remains.

I could get up close to one of the poppies and get a fairly detailed shot, with noticeable patterns on the flower’s petals.

But I had my best luck using the feature with two contrasting colors — a photo of pink and purple flowers only flummoxed the Moto G Power.

The Moto X’s 10-MP camera snapped the best image of the bunch; the same shrub looked vibrantly green and was much sharper than the image produced by the other two phones, although the background was slightly out of focus.

#x    #Nexus    #Mbps

The Motorola Moto G Pro measures 158.60 x 75.80 x 9.20 mm ( height x width x thickness ) and weighs 192.00 grams.

Scoring just 4,365 on the 3DMark Ice Storm Unlimited benchmark, the Moto G fell behind both the Moto X ( 10,663 ) and the Nexus 5 ( 16,103 ).

Measuring 5.1 x 2.6 x 0.2 – 0.4 inches, the Moto G is nearly the exact same size as the Moto X and sports nearly the same measurements as the 5.04 x 2.59 x 0.4 inch, $ 199.99, contract – free LG Optimus F6 ( Metro PCS ).

The Moto G’s time did beat LG’s offering ( 14:21 ), but wasn’t quite as fast as the Moto X ( 6:41 ) or the Nexus 5 ( 7:51 ).

Motorola Moto G Pro Review Part 2

#Snapdragon    #Qualcomm    #chipset    #processor

Let’s credit the Moto G Power’s Snapdragon 665 chipset, which likely manages power more efficiently than the Snapdragon 632 in the Moto G7 Power.

The Moto G8 Plus is powered by a Snapdragon 665 chipset, which is a minor update to the Snapdragon 660 platform.

The Moto G Pro features triple rear cameras and comes powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 chipset and an integrated stylus.

As for the Moto G Pro, this Pro phone is still considered a mid – range because of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 processor.

Running at its heart is Qualcomm’s latest low – power processor, the 1.2GHz quad – core Snapdragon 400, which compared to the majority of the competition, which are saddled with significantly less powerful dual – core processors, makes the Moto G a fast and responsive phone.

#battery    #life    #charge

The Moto G Power offers snappy performance and truly spectacular battery life in a handset you can use anywhere in the world.

Just by retaining the long – lasting battery of the Moto G7 Power, the Moto G Power was already in the conversation for a must – have device for budget – conscious shoppers.

After 15 minutes of charging a drained Moto G Power, I got the phone back to 10 % power; that number grew to 21 % after half – an – hour.

Its predecessor, the Moto G7 Power, was a bargain hunter’s dream phone, delivering the best battery life of any mobile device while only costing $ 249.

Solid performance, multi – day battery life, and a gorgeous 6.4-inch display make the $ 249 Moto G Power the best budget – friendly phone you can buy right now.

#price    #Stylus

Motorola Moto G Pro price in India, Moto G Pro price in Europe and Moto G Pro price in USA not available.

We’re unlikely to see a version of the Moto G8 in the US and instead will have to choose between the Moto G7, Moto G Stylus or Moto G Power.

The Moto G Pro seems to be a rebranded version of Moto G Stylus which was launched in February this year.

And if you’re pondering whether or not to get a Moto G7, consider that in February, two new budget phones were announced : The Moto G Stylus and Moto G Power.

One of the corners cut by Motorola is the lack of 4 G, as the Moto G is missing LTE support.

#plastic    #display    #fingerprint    #bezels

Whereas the Moto G6 had a 5.7-inch display, the G7 is able to cram a 6.2-inch display into a similarly sized body.

The Moto G weighs 143 g, which is 13 g heavier than the larger Google Nexus 5 for instance, or 31 g heavier than the smaller iPhone 5S.

Checkout:Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G uw

The G Stylus and Power have plastic backs, which is a step down from the glass design of last year’s G7.

The switch back to plastic is a bit of a mixed blessing since last year’s glass G7 Power was a fingerprint magnet.

The 2015 Moto G doesn’t feel huge for a five inch handset, though Motorola didn’t go to a significant effort to reduce the bezel around the display.

Compared to a flagship like the Galaxy S6, the Moto G has a noticeably wider bezel on either side, and there’s quite a bit of unused space above the display.

#sensor    #lens    #aperture

The Moto G Power features a triple camera stack with a 16MP primary lens with an f/1.7 aperture, an 8MP ultra – wide lens with an f/2.2 aperture, and a 2MP macro lens with an f/2.2 aperture.

The quad camera includes a 48-megapixel main sensor, a 16-megapixel wide – angle camera that Motorola calls ‘action’ and a third 2-megapixel sensor with a macro lens.

The phone sports a triple rear camera setup which includes a 48-megapixel main sensor, a 16-megapixel ultra – wide sensor, and a 2-megapixel macro sensor.

In terms of photography, the Moto G Pro employs a triple – camera setup on the rear panel housing a 48MP primary sensor with an f/1.7 aperture.

Accompanying the primary sensor is a 16MP sensor for ultra – wide – angle shots and a 2MP sensor for macro shots.

#budget    #smartphone    #Choice

If you need a simple smartphone and you’re on a very tight budget, then the Moto G is a pretty good choice.

The Moto G is a far better smartphone experience than it ought to be, and the first budget smartphone I haven’t found frustrating to use.

The Moto G is Motorola’s first UK smartphone since becoming a Google – owned company, and it is probably the best budget phone going.

But unless you need the ultra – long battery of the G7 Power, or can’t stretch your budget to $ 300, I ‘d get the G7.

I ‘ve used the Moto G7 for the past couple weeks and it’s clear this is the best budget phone out there right now.

#look    #display    #artifacts

The Moto G Power still has the typical Motorola aesthetic, but there are a number of changes that make it look and feel more refined.

We applied several penalties to the Motorola smartphone’s score for noticeable artifacts, with most of the problematic issues we look out for visible in at least some images.

It’s not that Motorola’s phone looks bad — it’s just that the G Power uses a plastic chassis and there’s not a lot you can do to disguise that.

It is possible that Motorola could adjust the calibration of the display through a firmware update, especially if the issues lie in software rather than in the make – up of the display itself.

This leads to general undersaturation of colors, and can give the display a washed out look in comparison to last year’s Moto G. 5

#cover    #water    #card    #want

On opening the rear cover, you are presented with a completely sealed phone with just slots for SIM cards and the microSD card on the top portion.

You’ll want to re – install the Moto G’s rear cover pretty securely, otherwise the handset will not be water resistant.

Considering the phone comes with an IPx7 certification for water resistance, you don’t want to have any gaps between the column on the rear side and the rear cover, due to faulty closing of the cover.

The large earpiece grille at the top has me concerned about water damage, but Motorola claims that the phone has a water repellant design so you should be alright.

The Moto G’s rear cover can be removed, albeit with some difficulty, to reveal the two micro – SIM card slots ( if you have a dual – SIM model ) alongside the microSD card slot.

#wrist    #tap    #app

For instance, by quickly twisting your wrist twice, you can launch the camera app, which can be a real time – saver compared to unlocking your phone and launching the camera with a tap.

The Moto app adds useful gestures to quickly capture photographs ( twist your wrist ) or to turn on the flashlight ( chop with your wrist ).

You can still do the effortless double – twist – to – open – camera gesture from any app, another holdover from Motorola’s Google – owned days, and I generally found the redesigned Moto camera app to be intuitive, reliable, and stable.

The camera application has also been tweaked, hiding the user interface and making photo capture as easy as a tap anywhere on the screen.

#GB    #storage    #RAM    #microSD    #model

There are two variants of the phone – 8 GB storage with 1 GB of RAM and 16 GB storage with 2 GB RAM.

But only the 2 GB variant as the base model with 1 GB RAM and 8 GB storage for Rs 1,000 less is not really an ideal deal.

Couple the speed bump with an extra gigabyte of RAM and double the storage — there’s no bifurcation in the models this year, every G7 has 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage, plus a microSD card for expansion.

While 48 GB of storage should be enough for moderate users, you can add up to an additional 512 GB of external storage with a microSD card.

In terms of storage, the Moto G only has 8 or 16 GB, depending on the model, and lacks support for external expansion via microSD, although the Moto G does come with an extra 50 GB of Google Drive cloud storage for two years.

#Android    #updates    #software    #Google

As far as future software updates, Motorola tends to update its handsets fairly regularly and does a good job with patches and updates.

The phone ships with Android 9 Pie out of the box and Motorola has promised an update to Android 10 soon.

Having a clean version of Android also means the Moto G will get software updates faster than most other Android phones.

Finally, Motorola’s been frustratingly unreliable with its software updates, dribbling out security patches with infrequency, and platform updates even less so.

Motorola has promised a software upgrade for the Moto G to bring it up to date with Android 4.4 Kitkat in January 2014.

More accessible version of the popular Galaxy Note, the Motorola in question remains in the line of the mid – range offering multiple cameras, a Snapdragon 665 and software updated to Android 10.

#Realme    #Redmi    #Note

Regardless, the overall performance is well behind the Redmi Note 8 Pro, which is the real competitor for the Moto G8 Plus.

Meanwhile, the Redmi Note 9 Pro places emphasis on value with a Snapdragon 720 G set up, in addition to a gorgeous design.

Great options like the Redmi Note 9 Pro, Poco X2 and Realme 6 provide excellent performance, better imaging and simply put, a lot more value.

Simply put, it’s not a very good camera, particularly when pitted against stellar performers like the Redmi Note 8 Pro and the Realme XT.

Meanwhile, Realme has been upping its game with the Realme 6 and 6 Pro that are excellent mid – rangers in their own right.

The Realme XT is another great option, with solid imaging credentials and hardware that is a step above what the Moto G8 Plus offers.

#lag    #experience    #apps    #Android    #load

Yes, you will experience a slight lag while opening some apps, for instance the Chrome browser among them, but nothing slow enough to mar the overall experience.

The only advantage Moto G has over the Mi 4i is water resistance, lag – free user interface and a stock Android experience.

One of the reasons the Moto G is quite so fast and fluid at loading applications and swapping between programs is the fact that Motorola hasn’t added much to the standard Android experience.

We noticed loner load times than what you encounter on more expensive phones, but we didn’t see any dropped frames or lag during gameplay.

In practice, the Moto G is fast and lag – free, handling most things without any issues whatsoever, something that can’t be said for most Android smartphones in the budget sector.

#people    #market    #budget    #payment

Most people won’t care that the phone peaks at 300Mbps, but they should demand a higher ceiling from their budget phones.

In the U.S., where unlocked phone sales are limited to around 12 % of the market, there are far fewer options, since most people still buy their phones through carriers on easier – to – digest payment plans.

The brand may not pull in much revenue through the new phones but they can certainly capture the attention of the market.

Those phones can be very popular, especially in emerging markets like China where the cost of smartphones isn’t much more than regular cellphones.

While that means that it can’t take advantage of the new, fast 4 G networks currently being rolled out across the UK, not many budget phones are likely to be sold on comparatively expensive 4 G mobile phone contracts.

#photo    #flowers    #produced    #background    #colors

But I had my best luck using the feature with two contrasting colors — a photo of pink and purple flowers only flummoxed the Moto G Power.

The effect can be quite striking in some photos, like this picture of yellow and orange flowers where only the yellow remains.

The Moto G Power produces more realistic colors, but the letters and numbers on the side of the boat aren’t as sharp. 4

It’s better able to contend with the shadow cast over my yard, keeping the flowers in the background as focused as the ones in the forefront.

The Moto G Power’s image is brighter, but the flower petals aren’t as sharp and the shot doesn’t seem as balanced as what Google’s phone produced.

#test    #video    #DXOMARK    #score

In September 2019, we updated the DXOMARK Mobile test protocol to cover ultra – wide – angle performance and renamed the protocol DXOMARK Camera.

About DxOMark Mobile tests : For scoring and analysis in our smartphone camera reviews, DxOMark engineers capture and evaluate over 1500 test images and more than 2 hours of video both in controlled lab environments and in natural indoor and outdoor scenes, using the camera’s default settings.

The cameras are impressive for $ 300, especially considering they can shoot 4 K video, portrait mode photos and slow – motion video.

We also expanded our low – light testing and created the new Night sub – score, which incorporates the previous Flash score.

The camera is capable of shooting fullHD videos, but the quality is strictly OK and worsens if you pan the phone.

#speaker    #USB    #port    #jack    #C

Down on the bottom, you have the speaker ( stereo with the earpiece ), a USB – C port, and an increasingly rare headphone jack.

The headphone jack is placed on top of the phone, while the USB – C port and speaker grille are placed on the bottom.

In terms of connectivity, the device offers a USB Type – C port, a 3.5 mm headphone jack, Wi – Fi, and Bluetooth.

Add in 15W wired charging via the USB – C port, a decently – loud bottom firing speaker, and a headphone jack opposite, and this phone has almost everything you need in a modern phone.

The phone ships with a 15W USB – C charger in the box, which allows you to top it off pretty quickly.

#Pixel    #XL    #keeps

Moving inside to take a picture of dinner, the Moto G Power gets the better of the Pixel 3a XL in terms of color.

The Pixel 3a XL keeps the atmospheric red lighting of the scene while balancing the white lamp in the background and keeping all the stuffies in focus.

The Pixel 3a XL, which only has a 3,700 mAh battery but a faster 18-watt adapter, got up to 22 % after 15 minutes of charging.

The Pixel 3a XL continues to bathe everything in a blue light, which affects everything from the white boat to the gray clouds.

In the case of this photo of some California poppies that have sprung up in my backyard, it’s clear the more expensive Pixel 3a XL takes the better shot.

#conditions    #detail    #color    #exposure

Shooting stills in well – balanced outdoor lighting conditions, exposure can be pleasant, but we often encountered low target exposures in our natural test scenes across all lighting conditions.

Exposure can be good in well – balanced lighting conditions, and under controlled lab conditions, target exposures are good between 20 and 1000 lux, with only seriously underexposed videos in very low light.

Shots using flash aren’t quite as good under mixed – light conditions : exposure on faces remains acceptable, but there’s a slight loss of detail and white balance turns yellow – green.

Our daylight test photos show solid color accuracy and accurate depth of field, though we noticed some loss of fine detail.

Exposure behavior is often different when bokeh mode is activated, too, which our engineers found particularly problematic in bright outdoor conditions.

Motorola Moto G Pro Specifications Part 3

#Stylus    #Lenovo    #markets

Lenovo – owned Motorola had earlier launched the Moto G Stylus in the US markets and today it has been rebranded as the Moto G Pro for the European markets.

The Moto G Pro seems to be a rebranded version of Moto G Stylus which was launched in February this year.

Moto G Pro has made its debut in Germany and the phone by the looks and specifications appears to be a rebranded version of Moto G Stylus.

Moto G Professional has made its debut in Germany and the telephone through the appearance and specs seems to be a rebranded model of Moto G Stylus.

It is unclear whether the smartphone will be launched in India any time soon and whether it will arrive as Moto G Pro or Moto G Stylus.

#GB    #storage    #RAM    #Snapdragon    #Qualcomm

The phone features the Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 SoC which is paired with 4 GB RAM and 128 GB of internal storage.

The Moto G ( 4th Gen ) is expected to pack 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal storage, while the Moto G Plus is expected to come with 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage.

The phone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 SoC, paired with 4 GB RAM and 128 onboard storage that can be further expanded via a microSD card ( up to 512 GB ).

As mentioned earlier there is only one variant which is 4 GB RAM + 128 GB storage which is non – expandable.

But only the 2 GB variant as the base model with 1 GB RAM and 8 GB storage for Rs 1,000 less is not really an ideal deal.

#camera    #aperture    #lens    #MP

The Moto G Power features a triple camera stack with a 16MP primary lens with an f/1.7 aperture, an 8MP ultra – wide lens with an f/2.2 aperture, and a 2MP macro lens with an f/2.2 aperture.

The phone packs a triple rear camera setup that includes a 48-megapixel main camera with f/1.7 aperture, a 16-megapixel ultra – wide camera with f/2.2 aperture, and a 2-megapixel macro camera with f/2.2 aperture.

The smartphone comes with a triple – camera that consists of 48 MP ( wide ) + 16 MP ( ultrawide ) dedicated video camera ( 1080p ) + 2 MP ( macro ) while on the front there is a 16 MP ( wide ).

Moto G Pro will boasts of dual primary camera of 48 + 16 + 2 megapixel and 16 megapixel front Camera.

#user    #experience    #regard

Moto G phones never have the most impressive specifications, but they’re good enough to deliver an experience that’s still enjoyable for the end user.

Motorola’s original Moto G was one of the first Android devices to offer what one could honestly call a good user experience at a price of around $ 200.

AnandTech Motorola’s original Moto G was one of the first Android devices to offer what one could honestly call a good user experience at a price of around $ 200.

Gadgetspeak 2013 marked what some regard as a sea – change with regards to the choice options open to users looking to purchase a new smartphone.

This updated Moto G faces fiercer competition than it ever has before, and it may well lose its hard – fought, low – cost crown someday.

#Fast    #World

Meanwhile, the Moto G8 Power was earlier this year and then the regular Moto G8 was added to the stable weeks later.

Earlier evidence from XDA’s Mishaal Rahman pointed at the Moto G Fast being a rebranded Moto G8, and that certainly appears to be the case based on the video.

Just a couple of days after launching its flagship Moto Edge+, the Moto G8 Power Lite by Motorola has debuted in India today and will go on sale by the end of this month.

#SIM    #card    #slots    #Nano    #device

The Motorola Moto G Pro is a dual – SIM ( GSM and GSM ) smartphone that accepts Nano – SIM and Nano – SIM cards.

There’s no removable battery, nor a microSD card slot ( I’ll discuss this further later on ), but you will find the micro – SIM card slot.

There are no SIM card slots around the edge of the device, and that’s because they’re located behind the removable rear panel.

The Moto G Pro has Dual SIM capability, which means that you can insert two different SIM cards and use them both from one phone.

The dual – SIM ( Nano ) Moto G Pro is based on Android One platform and run on Android 10.

#budget    #smartphone

Motorola’s Moto G phones are consistently some of the best in the budget smartphone space each year, and with the G7, things aren’t any different.

Motorola’s G series has long been a favorite for phone buyers on a budget, and this year’s Moto G Power ( $ 249 ) is no exception.

It’s a very, very good smartphone – the best budget smartphone on the market – and well worth the asking price.

If you have a Moto G6 or G5, is it worth your time and money to upgrade to one of this year’s new phones?

Motorola’s done it again with this year’s Moto G, and there’s no point even considering going for any other phone if you’re on a budget and need something quick, sharp and on point.

#battery    #performance    #life    #day

The battery power has not been mentioned but the video claims that Moto G Fast will have two – day of battery life.

Solid performance, multi – day battery life, and a gorgeous 6.4-inch display make the $ 249 Moto G Power the best budget – friendly phone you can buy right now.

The Moto G Power offers snappy performance and truly spectacular battery life in a handset you can use anywhere in the world.

In fact, with its solid performance, long battery life and improved cameras, this is the best smartphone deal of the year.

But with superior battery life and very similar stats where it really counts, the Moto G Power may be the better buy.

Actual battery performance will vary and depends on many factors including signal strength, network and device settings, temperature, battery condition, and usage patterns.

#pixels    #inches    #resolution    #display

The phone comes with a 6.40-inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 1080×2300 pixels at a pixel density of 399 pixels per inch ( ppi ) and an aspect ratio of 19:9.

Motorola’s Moto G4 Plus was launched in May 2016 and comes with a 5.5- inch display with a resolution of 1080 pixels * 1920 pixels.

The Motorola Moto G Pro has a 6.4 inches, 1080 x 2300 pixels IPS display with a pixel density of 397 ppi.

The screen of the Moto G Pro by Motorola measures 6.4 inches that will present full HD plus the resolution of 1080 x 2300 pixels.

While the screen itself is 4.5-inches large with 55.8 square centimeters of real estate, the on – screen buttons reduce the usable space to 4.2 inches.

#Stylus    #camera

Both cameras are likely to be good for the money, but we expect the G Stylus to outshine the G Power in most situations.

If you have no interest in the Stylus or the Action Cam, the Moto G Power is the phone you should go for.

It depends on how you use your phone, but the G Power should manage two days between charges, whereas the G Stylus will likely need to be plugged in before then.

The extra $ 50 that the Moto G Stylus commands gets you more storage, a better camera, and a stylus, which is enough to give it a narrow win here.

There’s a special notepad app on the Moto G Stylus which is triggered by the removal of the stylus, so you can quickly jot down notes.

#apps    #formula    #resistance    #stock

There are some additional options in the camera app and you’ll find a batch of Moto apps alongside familiar Google apps.

Moto G. Newly introduced features like Moto Maker and IPX7 water resistance help the smartphone stand out in its overly crowded segment.

With various upgrades including a waterproof design, great cameras and stock Android, the new Moto G 2015 is a great affordable phone.

Tech Advisor With various upgrades including a waterproof design, great cameras and stock Android, the new Moto G 2015 is a great affordable phone.

With the 3rd generation, Motorola have improved on the original formula, and brought water resistance and improved on the second gen’s bigger screen and body.

#X    #differences

The Moto G is not able to have active notifications, quick capture, and touchless control like the Moto X due to the Moto X using a special processor that would be cost – prohibitive for the Moto G.

The Moto X and Moto G are the names that brought Motorola back in the game, winning quite a lot of fans in the process. 0

The phone is closely related to the Moto X that was released three months prior, although there are some key differences despite their similar appearances.

The Moto G Power still has the typical Motorola aesthetic, but there are a number of changes that make it look and feel more refined.

Speaking of ergonomics, Motorola has chosen the perfect position for the power button, which can be found on the right – hand edge of the Moto G.

#model    #price    #value

Both the models are codenamed Athena, according to the import listing and the Moto G Plus has the model number XT1643.

While we wish the Moto G’s pricing and specs was clearer and the 2 GB model isn’t quite the bargain basement must – have that previous Moto G models were, this is still a cracking budget Android phone.

It Pro While we wish the Moto G’s pricing and specs was clearer and the 2 GB model isn’t quite the bargain basement must – have that previous Moto G models were, this is still a cracking budget Android phone.

While we were hesitant to upgrade from the Moto G to the 2nd edition Moto G, here the jump is great enough to make.

#display    #buttons    #bezel    #Apple

With most high – end smartphones packing 5-inch displays as standard these days, the Moto G’s screen real estate isn’t huge, and yet the iPhone 5s still continues Apple’s small – screen tradition with a 4-inch panel, making the Moto G’s display larger than Apple’s flagship.

The display is positioned towards the top, so that the on – screen buttons are easier to press, which is an ergonomic choice I approve of.

Aside from the front – facing camera and in – call speaker, the only interesting thing about the Moto G’s front is the lack of hardware buttons, opting instead for on – screen buttons.

For example, the front of the phone has a larger screen – to – body ratio, with no Motorola branding on the bottom bezel. 11

#Play    #review    #devices

The Moto G7 devices are not without flaws, but they feel about as fast and useful as a midrange ( $ 400-$500 ) phone did last year.

The lineup of devices ranges from $ 199 to $ 299 / EUR299 and are every bit what we ‘ve come to expect from a Motorola phone over the past few years.

You can check out our full review of the regular G7 below, in addition to some initial hands – on impressions of the G7 Power and G7 Play.

#specs    #existence

But the existence of competition doesn’t nullify the very compelling product Motorola brings to the table with the Moto G 2015.

Pocketnow But the existence of competition doesn’t nullify the very compelling product Motorola brings to the table with the Moto G 2015.

To conclude this review, I can only say that the Moto G ( 2015 ) is the perfect example of why specs don’t matter.

On the Motorola website users can build their Motorola Moto G 2015 by choosing from design options such as color combinations as well as technical specifications such as RAM and storage.

Androidbeat To conclude this review, I can only say that the Moto G ( 2015 ) is the perfect example of why specs don’t matter.

#sensor    #fingerprint    #proximity    #GPS

The sensors on the phone include GPS, Accelerometer, gyroscope, proximity sensor, ambient light sensor, sensor hub, and a fingerprint sensor on the rear panel.

The sensors at the telephone come with GPS, Accelerometer, gyroscope, proximity sensor, ambient gentle sensor, sensor hub, and a fingerprint sensor at the rear panel.

There is a fingerprint sensor present on the Motorola Moto G Pro as well, along with a gyroscope sensor, proximity sensor and accelerometer sensor.

Accompanying the primary sensor is a 16MP sensor for ultra – wide – angle shots and a 2MP sensor for macro shots. 25

The phone sports a triple rear camera setup which includes a 48-megapixel main sensor, a 16-megapixel ultra – wide sensor, and a 2-megapixel macro sensor.

On the optics side of things, the phone has a 48MP primary sensor along with a 16MP ultra – wide sensor and a 2MP macro sensor.

#gestures    #shortcuts    #applications    #change

Despite this, I ‘m a fan of on – screen buttons, as they can change and disappear in certain applications when necessary.

If there’s one dramatic change that has happened in the phone world over the last decade, it’s the transformation from small – screened, keypad devices to full – screen touch.

Otherwise everything’s very familiar on the Moto G, with five homescreens ( no, you can’t add more ), shortcuts, folders of shortcuts, a dock, a swipeable main application menu, all bog – standard, plus the ubiquitous on – screen Android virtual controls.

#replacement    #support

Next, I spent a half hour on the phone with level-1 support, trying to convince them that the replacement phone is faulty with the IMEI # showing < unknown >, so while it works via WiFi as a mini tablet, it has no phone functionality.

I will have to call them back again, try to get them to understand, when you send a broken replacement under warranty, then you have to replace the broken replacement too!

In this case, from an older Android phone to this one – there’s no support for coming in from another platform, sadly.

Even those of you who own the original Moto G can rest easy knowing your cash is going towards a device that’s worth the buck.

#water    #protection    #splash    #speaker

Durability is a strong point of the smartphone as it is IPX7 rated with protection against splashes and accidental drops in water.

Overall, some sort of water protection is better than none, but I would love to see a more robust level of protection.

Phone calls sound typical, though the speaker audio on all models is mono; nothing will sound leagues better than a phone call, so you’ll want to use headphones.

There’s little to separate these phones in the durability stakes; both are splash resistant and will likely survive a drop or two.

As some people have pointed out, cheaper phones often have better speakers because they don’t aim to be an insanely thin as possible and therefore have more room for a speaker component and any necessary audio cavities.

#YouTube    #podcast    #subscribe

We discussed this on Orbital, our weekly technology podcast, which you can subscribe to via Apple Podcasts or RSS, download the episode, or just hit the play button below.

The video has been taken down by Motorola US YouTube channel, but a YouTuber, Umair’s Wishlist, has managed to download it and upload the HD version on their channel.

Since then, Motorola has been making new iterations of Moto G phones every year and this model alone was responsible for pushing Motorola to new heights in the smartphone era.

Motorola US reportedly leaked a promo video of its unannounced Moto smartphone on YouTube recently, only to take it down moments later.

#jack    #port    #C    #mm    #USB

In terms of connectivity, the device offers a USB Type – C port, a 3.5 mm headphone jack, Wi – Fi, and Bluetooth.

Connectivity options on the Moto G Pro include 4 G LTE, USB Type – C port, 3.5 mm audio jack, Bluetooth v5.0, and NFC support.

Connectivity choices at the Moto G Professional come with 4 G LTE, USB Kind – C port, 3.5 mm audio jack, Bluetooth v5.0, and NFC improve.

Motorola earned a few bonus points for including a headphone jack and a USB – C port — something that’s becoming increasingly rare in more expensive phones.

Other features around the edge, including the volume rocker, microUSB port and 3.5 mm headphone jack, are in their usual positions.

#contrast    #daylight    #distortion    #test

In our daylight test shots, many of the photos are solid, though you’ll notice less than perfect detail and edge distortion upon close examination.

Nearly all of our test shots look fine for sharing on social media, but there is more noticeable background blur, edge noise, and distortion.

Contrast isn’t terrible, but a noticeable amount of backlight seeps through, preventing the panel from displaying deep blacks, and hurting the overall contrast ratio.

Maximum brightness from the backlight is quite good, but the apparently lack of filter layers can make the Moto G hard to read in strong daylight.

Motorola Moto G Pro Features Part 4

#GB    #Qualcomm    #processor    #RAM    #Snapdragon

The phone features the Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 SoC which is paired with 4 GB RAM and 128 GB of internal storage.

However, the Moto X’s 1.7-GHz dual core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 with 2 GB of RAM scored the highest ( 9,054 ).

The G also beat the more – premium Nexus 5 ( 7,696 ), which runs a 2.26-GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 CPU with 2 GB of RAM.

For all of the attention companies and reviewers give to the latest Apple A – series processor or the high – end Qualcomm Snapdragon processor — and rightfully so — the lower end processors from Qualcomm deserve their own praise.

The Moto G7 is the most capable multitasker with 4 GB of RAM inside, compared to 3 GB in the Power, and just 2 GB in the Play.

#resolution    #LCD

Motorola Moto G Pro smartphone comes with IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen, 16 M colors, 6.4 inches, 101.7 cm2 ( ~84.6 % screen – to – body ratio ) display.

The Moto G has a 4.5 in screen with a resolution of 1,280 x 720, and I had no problems reading text on the display.

They are all LCD screens, but two things elevate the Moto G7’s screen above its siblings : It sports a much higher 2,270 x 1,080-pixel resolution and it has a teardrop notch.

The screen of the Moto G Pro by Motorola measures 6.4 inches that will present full HD plus the resolution of 1080 x 2300 pixels. 11

When it comes to the Moto G Power’s display, we have a 6.4-inch IPS panel with a Full HD+ resolution of 2300 x 1080. 7

#Stylus    #Pro

The Moto G Pro seems to be a rebranded version of Moto G Stylus which was launched in February this year.

Of course, the Moto G Pro isn’t available in countries where the G Stylus is for sale, probably because it’s the same phone.

Motorola’s definitely positioning the G Stylus as the flagship Moto G phone this year, but unless you really need that stylus or the Action Camera, I ‘m inclined to say that the Moto G Power is actually the better buy.

Motorola has launched its latest smartphone in Germany and the phone looks to be a rebranded version of the Moto G Stylus.

But if you look closely at the G Pro’s spec sheet, you’ll find that this is little more than a rebranded Moto G Stylus for European markets like Germany.

#Power    #year    #Play    #launched

Following the immense popularity of the first Moto G in 2013, Motorola has launched a new one every single year — with 2019 seeing the launch of the Moto G7, G7 Power, and G7 Play.

Now, Motorola is looking to win the market back with a G series reshuffle that brings us the Moto G7, Moto G7 Power, and Moto G7 Play.

Motorola is selling three G phones for 2019 : the standard Moto G7, a slightly pared down Moto G7 Power that gets more than two days of battery life, and a super – budget Moto G7 Play.

Curiously enough, the G8 and G8 Play never became officially available stateside, leaving a bit of a hole in the brand’s handset lineup between last year’s Moto G7 family and the $ 250 Moto G Power.

#life    #Power    #WiFi    #interfaces

To evaluate battery life we turn to our battery life testing suite, which we run over WiFi and all the cellular interfaces appropriate for the device.

Compared to the Moto X, the WiFi and 3 G battery life tests really wind up being a story of the power consumption tradeoffs between LCD and AMOLED that remain to this day.

If battery life is your main concern the Moto G8 Power is the best budget phone for battery right now, and one of the best for simple software too, with stock Android shipped as standard.

With a near – pure Android interface, the G7 Power is a decent alternative to Huawei and Honor’s offerings around this price, and its huge battery means a comfortable two – day battery life that can easily be made to stretch to three if needed.

#GB    #storage    #Rs    #RAM    #EUR

The Moto G Pro is priced at EUR 329 ( Roughly Rs 27,300 ) and is only available in a 4 GB RAM and 128 GB storage model.

The Moto G Pro has been priced at EUR 329 which is around Rs 27,400 for the single 4GB/128 GB option.

It comes with 2 GB of RAM, 32 GB of storage, and also has a smaller 5.7-inch 720p display with the largest notch ( iPhone – sized ).

There are two versions of the Moto G available, one with 8 GB of internal storage and one with 16 GB.

The G7 also has double the internal storage of its siblings with 64 GB to their 32 GB, although all three have MicroSD card slots for storage expansion.

#price    #need    #buy

The Moto G7 is not only the best Moto G phone yet, it’s the best mid – range phone you can buy. 16

Whenever we have a phone priced as low as the Moto G Power, there are some downgrades / cutbacks you come to expect. 7

Like the Moto G – series phones that have come before it, the G7 series is designed to give you everything you need in a smartphone, and a little extra, for a third the price of a new iPhone or top Android phone.

You can still get Moto G6 phones online at good prices, but we ‘ve not included them here as we recommend investing in a newer generation.

If you need a new phone but don’t want to spend a ton of money, you can’t really go wrong with the Moto G7.

#devices    #price    #specifications    #OEMs    #competition

As new devices with better specifications enter the market the Ki score of older devices will go down, always being compensated of their decrease in price.

When it comes to Android, there’s considerably more competition, with various Asian OEMs pushing their cheap, often unknown devices hard in local markets.

This budget ‘Droid promises high – end specifications like most Chinese offerings in this price range, but with superior build and support that only seasoned OEMs are capable of delivering.

The brand’s global strategy is officially all over the place, which threatens to impact the mass appeal of a family of mid – end Android devices that otherwise has a lot going for it in terms of affordability, respectable specifications, and modern designs. 2

#Apple

With most high – end smartphones packing 5-inch displays as standard these days, the Moto G’s screen real estate isn’t huge, and yet the iPhone 5s still continues Apple’s small – screen tradition with a 4-inch panel, making the Moto G’s display larger than Apple’s flagship.

Some aspects of the Moto G’s display, though, definitely fall behind those we ‘ve been accustomed to on top – end smartphones.

The Moto G’s frame is built around a 4.5-inch display, so compared to today’s 5-inch flagship handsets, the device is relatively compact.

The standard Moto G7 has a 6.2-inch edge – to – edge HD display ( 19:9 aspect ratio ) with a small notch up top for the selfie camera.

Like most phones, the Moto G’s front profile is bare and minimalist, save for the 4.5-inch display that occupies roughly 65 % of the total panel.

#Android    #experience    #apps    #design

It also brings a premium – looking design, a clean user experience and some smart modifications on top the Android experience to the table.

The $ 199 Moto G is a budget smartphone that combines a fun, customizable design with a fairly pure Android experience.

The Moto G Power ships with Android 10 out of the box, and as always, Motorola has one of the better Android interfaces out there.

Click to EnlargeThe Moto G’s app drawer is fairly scarce out of the box, but Motorola bundled some of its own signature apps.

Click to EnlargeThe Moto G offers one of the cleanest Android experiences you can find on a non – Nexus device.

Android Developers have announced that the Android 11 beta and a June 3rd event have been postponed because of recent events.

#camera    #sensor    #aperture    #lens    #megapixel

The phone sports a triple rear camera setup which includes a 48-megapixel main sensor, a 16-megapixel ultra – wide sensor, and a 2-megapixel macro sensor.

On the back, the Moto G Pro utilises a 48-megapixel primary shooter with f/1.7 aperture, a 16-megapixel ultrawide camera with f/2.2 aperture, and a 2-megapixel dedicated macro lens.

The G7 Power has a single 12-megapixel sensor with an f/2.0 aperture and the Play has a single 13-megapixel sensor with an f/2.0 aperture.

The main sensor of the Motorola G Pro will be 48 megapixels and an ultra – wide lens will be 8 megapixels.

Accompanying the primary sensor is a 16MP sensor for ultra – wide – angle shots and a 2MP sensor for macro shots.

#slot    #SIM    #card    #variant

There’s no removable battery, nor a microSD card slot ( I’ll discuss this further later on ), but you will find the micro – SIM card slot.

The particular model I reviewed is the dual – SIM variant of the Moto G, so there are two SIM card slots underneath the back cover : one at the top right, and one at the bottom left.

There are no SIM card slots around the edge of the device, and that’s because they’re located behind the removable rear panel.

When there’s two slots to place somewhere on the device it makes a bit of sense to have the entire back cover remove, but it’s an unusual choice for the single – SIM variant, especially as the battery is sealed behind another layer of plastic.

#NFC    #updates    #software

I do have my gripes with the phone, particularly its lack of NFC and Motorola’s unfavorable software update policy, but neither of those things likely matter to a lot of people.

That said, the lack of NFC and Motorola’s infamous history with software updates could be reason to think twice before picking it up.

There is one design decision you can’t see, and that’s the choice to once again not include an NFC chip in a Moto G phone.

Comparatively, you could buy the identically – priced Nokia 6.2 and enjoy two years of software updates and three years of security patches.

Impressive specifications are no good if you don’t have regular software and firmware updates to add new features and iron out bugs.

#notification    #finger    #settings

Dragging down from the top of the display ( with one finger ) launches the notification drawer, which displays app updates, missed calls and other alerts.

Using two fingers to drag down from the top provides shortcuts to settings such as display brightness, Wi – Fi, the battery indicator, Bluetooth and Airplane Mode, among others.

Moto Actions allow you to set up simple gestures to complete common tasks, like taking a screenshot with a three – finger tap, turning the camera on with a few flicks of your wrist, or silencing the phone by picking it up.

In addition to its usual features, you can now create custom edge notification lights and even custom gestures by tapping and dragging on the edge of the display.

#speeds    #Mbps    #tested    #LTE

We found the Moto G’s speeds to be inconsistent during our testing; download speeds fluctuated between 0.09 Mbps and 8.06 Mbps on AT&T’s HSPA network, while uploads landed in the 0.6 Mbps to 1.66 Mbps range.

The Moto G’s download speeds averaged 2.76 Mbps, and uploads averaged 1.04 Mbps when we tested from our New York City office in the Flatiron District.

This is longer than the average smartphone ( 6:39 ), but that’s because the Moto G only uses 3 G rather than 4 G LTE.

Click to EnlargeOne of the drawbacks to the Moto G is its lack of 4 G LTE support, which means you’ll have to settle for slower 3 G data speeds.

While this may seem slow compared to 4 G LTE data speeds, we didn’t notice it too often when browsing the Web.

#charging    #TurboPower    #day    #hours

Speaking of charging, the G7 boasts TurboPower support at 15W, which will give you 9 hours of use from 15 minutes of charging.

Included in the box with the G7 is a 15W TurboPower wall adapter that Motorola promises will provide nine hours of battery with just 15 minutes of charge time.

I ‘m not sold on those numbers but can confirm that TurboPower does a good job at quickly charging the G7’s battery.

The 3,000 milliamp – hour battery had enough power to get through a normal day for me, starting around six in the morning and winding down around 10 at night.

The G7 Power also supports 15W TurboPower, but the G7 Play charging maxes out at 10W, so it takes two hours to recharge from empty to full.

#protection    #water    #IP    #rating

Most phones have some level of water resistance now, and while the G series lack IP ratings, they do all have a water – repellent coating from P2i.

The phone also lacks an IP rating, which means it offers no official protection against dust or water, which is really something you shouldn’t have to worry about at this price.

Overall, some sort of water protection is better than none, but I would love to see a more robust level of protection.

If you ‘d rather use a different screen protection solution and yet still personalise your phone, then you want the grip shell.

A consequence of this is that you can’t remove the battery which is sealed in place to help protect the phone’s electronics.

#image    #color    #shots

A close – up image of needles on a conifer shrub taken with the Moto G came out clear, but looked too bright.

There’s some visible color banding when viewing smooth gradients, but for the most part images look really good on this affordable handset.

Color accuracy and depth of field are spot – on, though there’s some loss of clarity, and several shots appear to have minor edge distortion.

This was most apparent in images with white and blue colors, such as the snow – covered scene in The Secret Life of Walter Mitty trailer.

The dual – lens camera in the G7 stands out as the biggest difference, but the extra stamina of the G7 Power should certainly tempt some people.

#Glass    #Gorilla    #damage    #plastic

I ‘m glad Motorola didn’t choose bargain basement materials, sticking to soft – touch plastic and Gorilla Glass on this relatively compact device.

While Motorola uses Gorilla Glass 5, it’s unlikely to weather a hard drop without damage, and the curved display makes it even more fragile.

Motorola has implemented another clever trick given the price of this handset, as the company has managed to use Gorilla Glass 3 for the screen.

The good news is that Motorola hasn’t opted for glossy, Samsung – style cheap plastic, despite the price point of the handset.

The G7 may be a little more prone to damage with that glass back, but there really isn’t much to divide them in terms of durability.

#X    #Nexus    #Optimus    #LG

It blew away the LG Optimus G6’s score of 738, but both the Moto X ( 1,256 ) and Nexus 5 ( 2,689 ) scored higher.

And at 5.05 ounces, the Moto G is also slightly heavier than the 4.6-ounce Optimus F6 and Nexus 5, as well as the 4.8-ounce Moto X.

#apps    #run    #games    #kept    #wait

Even better, you can keep playing your games and running your apps without having to ever stress out over your battery life.

The only major lag I ‘ve experienced is when an app has stopped responding, and even high – end games run very well.

If you like to have a lot of apps and games running, or you don’t like to wait, then you’ll find the extra RAM makes for a smoother and snappier experience.

Also, the use of integrated storage is kept to a minimum in terms of the OS – and things should run fast and smooth.

While this shouldn’t theoretically kill the generally good performance, it will reduce the number of apps kept in cache memory, meaning they’ll need to be reloaded fully more frequently.

#speaker    #sound    #Audio    #earpiece

Phone calls sound typical, though the speaker audio on all models is mono; nothing will sound leagues better than a phone call, so you’ll want to use headphones.

With maximum earpiece volume coming in at 86dB, the phone is loud enough to hear on busy streets ( and the earpiece doubles as a second speaker for multimedia ).

The same songs played through the Nexus 5’s front – facing speakers sounded muffled, as if a pillow were being held over the phone, and it wasn’t nearly as loud.

Instead, Motorola has added a ‘Audio Effects’ option in the settings menu which affects the earphones and the speaker as well.

The Moto G emitted sound at 83 decibels during the LAPTOP Audio test, which is louder than your average smartphone, the Nexus 5 and the Moto X ( all register 81 decibels ).

#buttons    #edges    #curved

It lets you map buttons to the top edge of the screen, so you can play more naturally without tapping the display.

The front of the phone is dominated by a 6.7-inch OLED display with 90-degree curved edges on the left and right.

The back is curved at the edges, meaning it’s easy to get a comfortable grip on a device that boasts a 6.2-inch display.

The display is positioned towards the top, so that the on – screen buttons are easier to press, which is an ergonomic choice I approve of.

Despite this, I ‘m a fan of on – screen buttons, as they can change and disappear in certain applications when necessary.

#hours    #minutes    #seconds    #test    #video

It outperformed every other phone we ‘ve tested in the battery test, streaming video from YouTube for almost 14 hours, compared to 9 hours 21 minutes for the G7 Play and 8 hours 27 minutes for the G7.

In our battery test, which streams HD video over Wi – Fi at full brightness, the Edge+ lasted 14 hours and 29 minutes, besting the Galaxy S20 Ultra by over 2 hours.

That included 5 hours and 33 minutes of screen – on – time, a full hour of which was eaten up by CoD : Mobile.

The mobile version of The New York Times loaded in 2.4 seconds; LaptopMag.com loaded in 9 seconds, and ESPN.com took 4.9 seconds.

The device took 12 minutes and 3 seconds to transcode a 204 MB video from 1080p to 480p using Vidtrim, which is longer than the 8:17 smartphone category average.

#fingerprint    #registers    #finish    #touch    #plastic

There’s also the plastic back, which feels fine to the touch but picks up a ton of fingerprints after just seconds of holding the G Power.

I did have some issues with the sensor not recognizing a registered finger, but after deleting and re – registering my fingerprint I have yet to experience any hiccups.

The back panel, which incidentally is removable, is made from soft – touch, rubberized plastic that feels great to the touch, and the front panel is covered with smooth Gorilla Glass 3.

If you take this option, the rubberised backplate finish is replaced with a sort of canvas feeling back and front finish.

It’s in a spot that’s easy to find with my finger, and the phone unlocks without any delay once it registers my fingerprint.

#Twitter    #Pixel    #Galaxy    #going    #games

It’s nothing that’s going to rival your Pixel 4 or Galaxy S20 anytime soon, but it’s perfectly adequate for posting pictures on Twitter and Instagram.

That’s slightly behind the Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra ( 12,842 ), but you’re not going to notice a difference in regular use.

It doesn’t take away from watching videos or playing games, but it is something that catches my eye whenever I ‘m on Twitter or the Play Store.

So while the Edge+ can get a solid shot in good light, it’s simply no match for the Galaxy S20 line, the Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro 5 G, or even the $ 800 Google Pixel 4.

Whether I was trying my hand at my family’s latest mobile game obsession, Amaze !, or doing my daily routine of bouncing between email, Slack, Messenger, Twitter, and Reddit, I never felt like I was using an underpowered phone.
